Equivac® EST

Equivac® EST is used for immunisation of mares and foals as an aid in the control of diseases caused by Salmonella typhimurium.

Advantages of using Equivac® EST?

Equivac EST aids in controlling diseases in horses caused by Salmonella typhimurium, such as diarrhoea, septicaemia and polyarthritis

Usage

For all mares and foals, administer 2 mL (full contents of one syringe) by deep intramuscular injection, preferably in the rump.

Give two doses of Equivac® EST at an interval of 4 weeks apart.

Foals between 4 and 12 months of age

  • First dose: From 4 months of age
  • Second dose: Not less than 4 weeks after first dose
  • Booster: 6 weeks before foaling

Vaccinated pregnant mares

  • Booster: 6 weeks before foaling

Pregnant mares not previously vaccinated

  • First dose: Not later than 10 weeks before foaling
  • Second dose: Not later than 6 weeks before foaling
  • Booster: Annually

Non-pregnant mares not previously vaccinated

  • First dose: Anytime
  • Second dose: 4 weeks later
  • Booster: Annually
